Sea Glass is a series of glycerin soaps that evoke the appearance of glass eroded by the sea, polished fragments that were once shipwrecked objects, remnants of bottles, windows, or glasses that the ocean returns to the shore transformed into smooth, translucent, edgeless pieces.
Over time, water and sand transform what is broken into something new. Inspired by this process, I began a material exploration with glycerin, a medium I had never worked with before, to reinterpret this natural erosion from the artificial, and translate it into an everyday gesture.
For months, I collected broken glass from old objects, observing their shapes and textures. From them, I made a series of soaps that replicate their visual and formal qualities.
The friction of use, the repeated act of washing hands, triggers a slow transformation: the surface wears down, rounds, and softens. Hands act like the sea. Each piece changes over time, as if water left a final mark on it.
